Ten Tenors

Ten Tenors on Saturday 22nd July at Costa Hall, Deakin University, 1 Gheringhap St, Geelong

“The Ten Tenors are renowned for their dynamic performances of some of the greatest songs of all time, accompanied by spectacular Broadway-style choreography.”
They will celebrate their Greatest Hits Tour at Costa Hall on Saturday, 22nd July.
Cost: $111.50 A Reserve. Car pool.

Trip to Castlemaine

Tuesday, 9th May to Thursday, 11th May

Two-night stay at Campbell House, Castlemaine.
This is a nine-bedroom, heritage style house with three bathrooms, two kitchens, several living/gathering spaces and an outdoor area. Can sleep up to 18 guests (will split beds as singles).


Tuesday: Meet at Castlemaine Botanical Gardens; BYO picnic / buy lunch; walk and explore the Gardens; check-in; BBQ dinner


Wednesday: Victorian Goldfields Railway. This is a beautifully restored heritage steam train. Depart Castlemaine 11:30 am. Arrive Maldon 12:15 pm. Lunch / explore historical town. Depart Maldon 2:45 pm. Arrive Castlemaine 3:30 pm.


Thursday: Check-out; Historic Audio Tour – Castlemaine Town or Eureka Reef; travel home
Costs:
The more people we have attending the cheaper the cost of accommodation.
Campbell House is $950 per night so: 10 people = $95 ea p.n., 18 people = $52 ea p.n.
Train: group of 10+ $40 ($52 / conc $47 otherwise)
First class carriage $74 / conc $68 if you’re feeling a pit posh!
Food: BYO picnic lunch, and self-catered breakfasts and dinners in the house would keep costs down. Or eat out if you wish.

Geelong Gallery & National Wool Museum – Friday, 21st April

Gallery: Clarice Beckett – Atmosphere Exhibition
Clarice Beckett was an Australian artist known for her Beaumaris streetscapes, Melbourne cityscapes and Port Phillip Bay works. She had a connection to our region, spending 6 months in the Western District / Geelong in 1926 and Anglesea in 1929.
Entry to the exhibition $20 / concession $15.
Entry to the Gallery is free if you’d prefer to just wander through the other Gallery displays.


Lunch


Afternoon: National Wool Museum. There are two exhibitions:
‘Bluestone: 150 Years of the Dennys Lascelles Woolstore’ – an historical account of the colonisation of the region and events leading to the opening of the wool store, including Wadawurrung stories.


‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year from the Natural History Museum of London’. If you have seen this before you will know how spectacular the photography is.
Both are $10 / concession $8. I thought you could each choose on the day which one you’d prefer.
