A small group of members enjoyed a few days in Bendigo, as John Roberts reports;
Bendigo is thriving – not a spare motel room in town, the Elvis exhibition was sold out every day, restaurants were packed, with people dining outdoors in lovely sunshine. The exhibition was amazing with an enormous number of photos, stories, memorabilia, videos, all beautifully laid out in the Bendigo Art Gallery on View Street. Annemarie did a wonderful job of arranging our visit, including two dinners, one at the Rifle Brigade Hotel and a lunch at a Patisserie on the main street where they were selling blue suede shoe cakes!.
An informative morning was enjoyed by members on Wednesday 10th August. After hearing about the Historical Society from Sue Clark at our last meeting, members enjoyed hearing more and a delicious morning tea!
